SDG AWARENESS CAMPAIGN

Introducing young Afghans to the Sustainable Development Goals — in Dari and Pashto.

Afghan Youth SDG Awareness Campaign

The United Nations Sustainable Development Goals provide a globally agreed framework for addressing poverty, inequality, education, climate, and more. For Afghan youth — who are on the frontlines of nearly every SDG challenge — the framework is largely unknown.

Unisfere runs a targeted awareness campaign introducing young Afghans to the SDGs in Dari and Pashto: what they are, how they apply to Afghanistan, and how young people can contribute to their realisation even under constrained conditions.

Why This Matters

Awareness is not action — but it is a precondition for action. Young people who understand that water scarcity, girls’ education, and environmental degradation are part of a globally recognised framework of challenges are better positioned to frame their own work, access international opportunities, and connect local problems to global solutions.

The campaign is also low-cost and directly replicable: content produced for one SDG can be adapted for others. Fellows from the Research Fellowship are natural co-producers.
